Pastoral Prayer October 11, 2020

Gracious Father, we bless You. Thank You for being the King of Glory. Thank You for being our Father, our Redeemer, our Shepherd and our King. Thank You for reconciling us to You through the Lord Jesus Christ. We are thankful to You for the Holy Spirit who empowers us to be effective witnesses for Your Kingdom here on earth.  Thank You for loving us and watching over us.  Lord, let all that we are praise You.  We will praise You as long as we live.  We will sing Your praises until our dying breath.  Our hope is in You, our Lord and our God.  We confess that You and You alone created the heavens and earth, the sea, and everything in them.  You keep every promise forever.  We stand amazed in Your presence Lord.

Our glorious Father, today we desire to revere and honour You. We confess our prayerlessness to You and the spiritually careless way we so often live our lives. We desire that the Holy Spirit search us and try us Father to see if there be any wicked way in us. You are our God and we submit our loyalty and adoration to You. You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. You existed before time, You exist outside of time and you are our ever present God.  Lord, only You have set the boundaries of the ocean, the heights of the mountains and the depths of the valleys.  You are truly amazing!  Father, all nations of the world are but a drop in the bucket to You. They are nothing more than dust on the scales.  You pick up the whole earth as though it were a grain of sand!  Lord, You sit above the circle of the earth, the people below are like grasshoppers to You.  You spread out the heavens like a curtain and make Your tent from them.  When we look up at the sky, we know that You created every star, every planet and every galaxy that we see.  You bring them out like an army, one after another, calling each one by its name.  Because of Your great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.  Lord, You are the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth.  You never grow weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of Your understanding. You are good to everyone and shower compassion on all of Your creation. Mighty King, You are our banner and shield, our strength and protection.  Lord Jesus, You are our Saviour, our Redeemer and through You we are justified.  Holy Spirit, You are our Advocate, our Helper and the source of our power. We reverence and honour You, the Triune God. Grant to us today our gracious Father a special dispensation to embrace You in worship, in praise and in understanding as we sing, pray and study Your Word. We surrender unconditionally to You Father and we ask that You will be glorified in us as we worship You in Spirit and in Truth.
